Army Red bags team championship

Hyderabad, July 27 (UNI)Army Red bagged the team championship while Army Green finished second in the 56th inter-services Acquatic championship which concluded at the Air Force Academy here last night.

Army Red secured the highest 117 points,while Army Green got 106 points. The Indian Navy, which finished third secured 54 points while the Indian Air Force got only nine points.

Havildar Shibu M of Army Green, who won three gold medals was adjudged the best swimmer of the meet, while Indian Air Force won the Water Polo game.

Four teams representing Army Red, Army Green, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force partcipated in the championship. The aim of the championship was to select the Services Aquatic Team for participating in the National Aquatic Championship to be held this year.

Air Vice-Marshal Dhiraj Kukreja , Commandant Air Force Academy gave away prizes to the winners.
