APSRTC to acquire 2000 new buses this year
Hyderabad, Jul 27 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) Managing Director Krishna Rao today announced that the state owned RTC would buy 2000 new buses by the end of this year.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Rao said RTC has allocated Rs 200 crore to purchase the buses during the current financial year.
RTC was making prepartions to acquire 2000 buses on "Dasara" festival day in october.
He said out of 2000 buses, 700 buses would be alloted to the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad in view of increasing occupancy ratio. A special depot for Volvo buses would also be built at Gowliguda old bus station.
Eight new bus depots would also be constructed at Shamshabad, Hayat Nagar, Shamirpet, Borabanda, Bandlaguda, Musheerabad and Turkayangi this year, he added.
