Ananskrishnan appointed IIT-K Board of Governors chairman

Kanpur, July 27 (UNI) Prof M Anandakrishnana, presently chairperson of Madras Institute of Development Studies, Chennai, has been appointed as the Chairman, Board of Governors, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K) for a period of three years.

Padmashri Prof Anandakrishnan was a senior professor and head of Department of Civil Engineering, IIT-Kanpur during March 1963 to May 1974.

He was the Science Counsellor, Indian Embassy, Washington from June 1974 to April 1978, besides holding several important posts in India and abroad.

IIT-K Director Sanjay Dhande, welcoming the appointment of Prof Anandakrishnan, said with the appointment of a veteran educationist, the Institute would benefit much.
