30 children handover to parents by NGO
Tirupati, July 27 (UNI) About 30 children, who ran away from their home were traced and handed over to their parents by an NGO Bala Tejasu+ with the help of a social activist of Raichur here.
The NGO and social activist identified the children at the railway station and other busy areas here. They had either become drug addicts or were indulging in anti-social activities or begging in trains, according to the NGO project officer P S Renuka.
The NGO provided intensive counselling to the children, who repented for their acts.
Additional Superintendent of police B Seshu formally handed over the children to their parents, she added.
