Youth held for sending death mail to President
Indore, July 26 (UNI) Aided by cyber crime experts, police achieved a major breakthrough with the arrest of a 19-year-old youth for sending death e-mail to President A P J Abdul Kalam.
After interrogating more than 50 persons, Sulabh Goyal, a resident of Ashoknagar district, was arrested on the basis of scientific investigation.
As the e-mail containing assassination threat to the President reached the Rashtrapati Bhawan on July 19, the matter was handed over to intelligence agencies, which traced the origin to Indore.
On the basis of information, police located the cyber cafe 'Cyber Fun' and sealed it besides seizing its computers and equipment.
About 50 visitors to the cafe and traders in the neighbourhood were interrogated in this connection. Meanwhile, based on scientific investigation, police nabbed Sulabh.
''The accused has been handed over to Delhi Police. Goyal also sent e-mail, to US President George W Bush, expressing a desire to become an air force pilot. Prima facie, mischief seems to be the motive,'' said Inspector-General (Indore Range) Shailendra Srivastava.
During interrogation, Sulabh revealed that he was peeved at public toilets being named 'Sulabh Shauchalaya', as it had made him a butt of joke. He had sent an e-mail regarding changing the name of public toilets earlier.
Sulabh was preparing for National Defence Academy examination, while his brother was a medical student. Sulabh is an internet buff and had sent the e-mail from a 'yahoo id' containing the word 'dinesh'.
