Yamuna water level much below danger mark
New Delhi, July 26 (UNI) Refuting reports of the Yamuna having crossed the danger level following the showers in the capital yesterday and today, the Delhi Government said there was a remote possibility of the level crossing the danger mark.
Sources in the Delhi Government's flood department said the Yamuna today stood at a level of 202.97 m, which is two metre below the danger mark of 204.83, thus refuting reports in certain sections of the media that the river had crossed the danger mark following rains.
''Even though more rains have been forecast during the next 48 hours, there is a very little possibility of the Yamuna breaching the danger level. It is only possible if the capital witnesses heavy showers continuously for at least ten hours,''the sources said.
