Two security personnel killed in south Kashmir

Srinagar, July 26 (UNI) Two security personnel of Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police were killed in a joint operation in South Kashmir, official sources said.

They said based on specific information security forces and SOG launched a joint operation at village Renipora, Shopian, in south Kashmir this afternoon.

However, when the security forces were sealing the exit points, militants attacked them with automatic weapons and hurled hand grenades.

The troops also retaliated and reinforcement was rushed from nearby camps to the village.

They said so far two personnel of SOG were killed and fierce encounter was going on when the reports last came in.
