Two girls among four buried alive in Mandi

Shimla, July 26 (UNI) Four members of a family, including two girls were buried alive in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh late last night, police sources today said.

The incident occurred at Parwara village of the district at midnight while the family members were asleep.

The sources said the incident only came to light today after the villagers reported the matter to the Mandi district Police early today.

The dead have been identified as Chaman Lal, Jasma Devi, and their two-and-a-half-years-old daughter Durga and six-month-old daughter Bhanupriya.

The district administration has announced an immediate relief of Rs 20,000 to the next of the kin of the dead, the sources said.

The company where Chaman's father, the lone surviving member of the family, was working has also announced a relief of Rs 10,000 to him.

The sources said a case has been registered and investigations were on.
