Tata Tea Q1 net up 2.64 pc to Rs 44.56 crore

Mumbai, July 26 (UNI) Tata Tea has posted a profit after tax of Rs 44.56 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 43.41 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005, an increase of 2.64 per cent.

Announcing the results, the company said its total income has increased from Rs 242.38 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 to Rs 265.58 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006.

As per the consolidated results, the group has posted a net profit of Rs 80.07 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 86.38 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005. Total Income has increased from Rs 719.29 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 to Rs 806.37 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006.
