Strike by health dept staffs in Pondy called off

Pondicherry, Jul 26: The C and D group staffs of the health department here called off their seven-day-old indefinite strike last night.

The decision to call off the strike was taken after an amicable settlement was reached following talks with the representatives of the agitating staff and officials.

The staffs went on strike demanding, among other things, granting of promotion and removal of pay anomalies.
