SSP oustees rehab
Bhopal, July 26 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government today informed the Assembly that about 25,000 oustees of the Sardar Sarovar Project, being constructed over the Narmada, had been rehabilitated.
In a written reply to a question by Dr Sunilam (SP), Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, ''A total of 5,456 displaced persons were allotted agricultural and residential plots in neighbouring Gujarat.'' As many as 325 oustees were allotted farmland in this state, 3,961 chose the special resettlement grant alternative, 14,282 were allotted residential plots and 2,510 accepted cash amounts instead.
Basic facilities were made available at 86 rehabilitation sites where 14,282 displaced persons were allotted residential plots.
