Som Marandi of BJP seeks Munda's resignation

Ranchi, July 26 (UNI) Launching a frontal attack on the party leadership, Jharkhand BJP vice president Som Marandi today urged Chief Minister Arjun Munda to step down, saying the BJP-led NDA government was indulging in rampant corruption.

Mr Marandi did not rule out resigning from the party, however, adding that such plan was not on his agenda for the moment.

Two months ago, BJP's national vice president and former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Babulal Marandi had resigned from the BJP's primary membership citing corruption as one of major issues in the state.

A UNI correspndent from Dumka district quoted Mr Marandi as saying the ''Chief Minster's misgovernance resulted in corruption'' adding the present govenment had ''miserably failed to complete many old projects''.

In a veiled expression of his own feeling in the BJP, the senior leader said many ''dedicated'' party workers were also feeling ''marginalised'' under the present leadership.

Referring to development, he said even for regular flow of power supply, people in the state were forced to resort to strike and that showed the government's mythified tall talks on prosperity.

He said people had expected a lot in the new state of Jharkhand which had been shattered by such leaders.
