Singapore and Australian army delegates to visit CIJWS
Aizawl, Jul 26 (UNI) Both Singapore and Australian high level army delegates would be arriving here to visit Counter-Insurgency Jungle Warfare School here in Mizoram.
The visit was aimed at sending their respective troops to the school for a comprehensive training in counter insurgency.
CIJW army officials here today said Singapore armed forces commando delegation headed by Yeo Eidik arrived today for a two-day visit to the school to observe the training curriculam so that they would be sending their army troops very shortly to impart their skills on how to counter insurgency in a non-conventinal way.
Another Australian Army high level team, headed by its major General Richard Wilson, would also be visiting the school on July 29.
CIJWS, a unique kind of army school in the world, had trained more than three lakh defence personnel, including from countries like France, Russia, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Mongolia, Britian and the United States, since its inception in 1970.
Meanwhile, Brg R M Painuly took over as commandant in-charge of CIJWS from Brg Rakesh Sharma.
