Siddaramiah committed blunder by joining Cong, says Horatti

Hubli, July 26 (UNI) Karnataka Law Minister Basavaraj Horatti today opined that former Deputy Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had committed a blunder by joining the Congress and hoped that he would return to the JD(S) fold within a couple of years.

Talking to newspersons, he said, ''Mr Siddaramaiah has pushed himself into a jail by joining the Congress. It will not suit his principles. Unlike the JD (S), there is no freedom in the Congress.'' To a question, Mr Horatti said Mr Siddaramaiah joining the Congress would not have any impact in the north Karnataka region.

He also informed that the government proposed to spend Rs 125 crore for construction of buildings for government pre-university colleges and high schools and a scheme had been prepared for the purpose. Steps would also be taken to appoint 400 lecturers and 76 part time lecturers in the state, he added.
