Rani Gayatri Devi wants to usurp my share of property: Jaipur Prince
New Delhi, Jul 26 (UNI) The prince and princess of erstwhile royal kingdom of Jaipur today blamed their grand mother famed Rani Gayatri Devi of conspiring with her stepsons to disown them and usurp their share from the Rs 1000 crore property.
Releasing the copy of allegedly forged one-page will of their late father Jagat Singh to the press, prince Devraj Singh and princess Lalithya and their mother former queen Rajawongse Priayananadana Rangsit said Gayatri Devi could have produced the document when the suit for succession right was filed at the District Courts in Jaipur.
''The forged will is alleged to be discovered in March 2006, nine years after the death of Jagat Singh, when Devraj and Lalitya filed petition in the Company Law Board (CLB) against Prithviraj Singh and his sons for restoration of the family companies in the names of the legal heirs,'' said Ms Rangsit.
They alleged that the shares of Jai Mahal Palace Hotels Pvt ltd, having 99 percent share in the name of Jagat Singh (the only son of Gayatri Devi), had been fraudulently transferred in the names of his step brother Prithviraj and his sons.
Ms Rangsit, a member of the Thai royal family, flew in with her son and daughter to claim a share in the property which Jagat Singh left behind after his death in 1997.
Devraj and Lalitya, both highly qalified, had been living with their mother in Thailand after the separation of their parents in 1984.
The Jaipur royal family has more than Rs 1000 crore worth of property including royal palaces, five star hotels, jewellery and heritage ornaments.
Few weeks back the estranged third wife of Prince Mukkaram Jah, Manolya Onur appealed to the Eighth Nizam of Hyderabad to give the share of property to their daughter Princess Niloufer.
Asked about the case of Nizam, Ms Rangsit said, ''I am fighting for legal rights of my children, who are the descendent of Rajmata Gayatri Devi. Due to advanced age, she has been influenced by her step sons.'' UNI PAT LL HS1751
