Production of locos and coaches exceeds target

New Delhi, July 26 (UNI) The Chitranjan Loco Works (CLW) and Integral Coach Factory (ICF) produced 26 electric locos and 243 coaches during April-June this year, exceeding the target of 15 electric locos and 235 coaches respectively.

The target of 48 locos by Diesel Loco Works (DLW), 292 coaches by Rail Coach Factory (RCF), 32992 wheels and 12920 axles by Rail Wheel Factory (RWF) for the period April-June 2006 had also been met, the Railway Ministry said in a statement here today.

The ordinary working expenses during the period came down to Rs.

9104 crore as compared to the budgetary provision of Rs. 9338.24 crore and last year's actual expenses of Rs. 9267.29 crore.

The punctuality percentage of mail and express trains during April-June in broad gauge and meter gauge respectively was 91.6 and 97.2 compared to 91.3 and 97.5 during the previous year.
