Prisoner escapes from escort police

Udhagamandalam, Jul 26: A 35-year-old undertrial prisoner has escaped from the escort police here.

According to police, Rajan, a prisoner, accused in a rape case was brought to the judicial magistrate's court here to complete the routine procedure yesterday. After completing the court formalities, two armed policemen escorted him back to local sub-jail.

At a crowded place near the Government headquarters hospital here, the prisoner managed to escape from the clutches of the police.
