'Pharma Buzz' launched

Chandigarh, July 26 (UNI) Ind-Swift Communications Private Limited launched a pharmaceutical magazine--Pharma Buzz here today.

The maiden issue of the magazine was released by National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali Director Prof P Rama Rao.

''The Indian pharmaceutical industry is growing at a fast pace creating lot of business and job opportunities in this sector. The industry is expected to grow by 11 per cent and become a Rs 60,000 crore industry by 2007-08, with exports to regulated markets of the US and Europe in generic drugs also likely to increase,'' Mr Rao said.

''Pharmaceutical research and development (R&D) is slated to become the next big thing in the offshore service market in India with a growing number of multinational pharma companies seeking to establish their R&D operations in the country and in such a senario it becomes important for us to know all the happenings and issues related to this sector,'' the NIPER director said.
