Monsoon active over Kerala, Lakshadweep

Thiruvananthapuram, July 26 (UNI) Several places in Kerala and Lakshadweep received rainfall during the past 24 hours, Met office here said today.

Kottayam received a maxium of nine cm rainfall, followed by Kanjirapalli-six cm, Thodupuzha- five cm, Perumbavur- four cm and Punalur, Pattambi and Koyilandi- three cm each.

It warned of strong on shore wind from north-westerly direction over Kerala at a speed occasionally between 45-55 kmph during the next 48 hours.
