Miscreants shoot at two angadias, loot valaubles, cash

Vadodara, July 26: Six unidentified miscreants shot at two Godhra-based angadias and looted cash and other valuables worth lakhs from them near Karelibaug police station here last night, police said.

''The incident occurred when the victims, Dilip Patel and Govind Patel were on their way to the office of Arvind Kantilal Angadia at Sultanpura on an auto-rickshaw to deliver two bags containing the cash and valuables,'' the police added.

Chasing the autorickshaw with two motor-cycles, the miscreants waylaid the vehicle at Maniyar Mohalla, fired two rounds at Dilip and stabbed Govind before fleeing with the two bags.

Both Dilip and Govind were immediately rushed to the SSG hospital where they were said to be stable.

Following the incident, all border points were sealed and police along with the Crime Branch sleuths carried out raids at several places all through the night.

''Teams has also been sent to Godhra and Mehsana to trace the miscreants,'' police said.
