LU moots idea of students' police verification
Lucknow, July 26 (UNI) Perplexed at the increasing rowdiness of a section of students, Lucknow University (LU) is mooting the idea of making police verification mandatory for students seeking admission in various disciplines.
This came close on heels of recent incidents in which students created unruly scenes by tearing question papers during the ongoing post graduate courses entrance test and misbehaving with Vice Chancellor R P Singh.
With reports of criminal elements sneaking into the LU as students, the LU administration ordered closure of hostels immediately, according to a varsity spokesman.
LU is also thinking in terms of expelling students with criminal background.
