Lawyers' ultimatum for rescue of an abducted youth
Patna, Jul 26 (UNI) Practising lawyers of Patna civil court today gave 48 hours' ultimatum to the government for rescuing Mukesh Kumar, kidnapped son of their colleague and advocate Laleshwar Prasad Singh.
The District Bar Association of Patna civil court held an emergent meeting under the Chairmanship of J.P.Singh and its Secretary Arvind Kumar here and condemned the incident.
At the meeting, senior lawyer Ranjit Singh expressed concern over the 'slackness' of the police saying the youth was in captive of abductors since July 19 and the police had done 'nothing concrete' so far except arresting one person. He added that it was the first time since the NDA came to power in Bihar that lawyers had been targetted by the criminals.
Passing a unanimous resolution, the association gave an ultimatum of 48 hours to the administration to rescue of Mukesh.
Later a delegation of the association called on Senior Police Superintendent Kundan Krishnan and requested him to expedite the release of Mukesh.They also apprised the SSP of the associations decision taken in connection with the incident.
Mukesh Kumar(20) was abducted from Patliputra Police station area on July 19.
