K'taka to set up Health Control Room to network ambulances
Bangalore, July 26 (UNI) The Karnataka Government proposed to set up a state-level Health Control Room to network of ambulances at district and taluk centres to help people at times of emergencies, Health Minister R Ashok informed today.
He told reporters here that the government would release 77 ambulances at a cost of Rs five crore, of which 27 would be first given to district centres. The ambulances would be maintained by the government and operated under the supervision of non-governmental organisations, he added.
The round-the-clock Health Control Room would coordinate the functioning of the ambulance network to help the needy.
He also informed that New Health Committees would be formed at district and taluka levels, comprising elected representatives, officials and NGOs for the development of hospitals in the respective areas.
