Kerala Kaumudi scribe gets Award

Kozhikode, Jul 26 (UNI) 'Kerala Kaumudi' Reporter M B Divakaran has been selected for P Unnikrishnan Journalism Award for his outstanding contribution to the field.

His feature 'Changxanpuzhayude Aa Udhyanalakshmi Ivideyundu' which appeared in the daily on June 10, 2005 got him the award instituted by the Calicut Press Club in memory of Former Journalist P Unnikrishan, said a release here today.

A judging committee comprising well-known writers M N Karassery, K P Ramanunni and P A Vasudevan selected him for the award, carrying a purse of Rs 10,000 and a citation.

The award will be presented to Mr Divakaran, who is working with the Thiruvanthapuram edition of the daily at present, at a function here the date for which will be decided later, it said.
