Kashmir valley hot despite 9.2 mm rainfall
Srinagar, July 26 (UNI) Despite 9.2 mm rainfall, the day and night temperature in the Kashmir valley was higher than normal.
A spokesman of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) here told UNI the minimum temperature last night was 22.3 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal.
The maximum temperature today was three degrees above normal, at 32.7 degrees.Cellsius.
The valley also recorded 9.2 mm rainfall.
The spokesman predicted rainfall at a few places in the Kashmir valley, particularly on Baltal-Amarnath and Pahalgam-Amarnath routes where the two-month-long pilgrimage is going on since June 11.
He said the highest ever maximum temperature recorded in the state's summer capital during the past 80 years was 37.8 degrees Celsius on June 29, 1978.
People at several places alleged shortage of drinking water and curtailment in the power.
