Jeev-Shiv duo to spearhead Indian challenge in Asian Tour 2nd half
Kuala Lumpur, July 26 (UNI) The Indian duo of Jeev Milkha Singh and talented Shiv Kapur will be spearheading the country's challenge in the Asian Tour with the Crowne Plaza Open, Brunei Open and Johor Open as the first three events lined-up for the second half of the season.
Both Jeev, now the highest ranked Indian golfer overtaking Jyoti Randhawa, and Shiv were among a handful of Asian Tour stalwarts who kept a busy schedule in Japan, Europe and United States.
Jeev walked tall with a top-10 finish at the UBS Japan Golf Tour Championship in July and then finished tied fifth in the Sega Sammy Cup last week.
Jeev's strong performance has not only kept his momentum going throughout the off season period but also helped reinforce his stature as one of the best in the region. His top-10 performance in Japan was backed by a superb showing in Ireland when he claimed fourth spot at the Smurfit European Open.
Shiv was also in the thick of the fray after making his debut appearance at the British Open. Though he missed the cut by two shots, Shiv walked away with his honour intact and was richer in experience.
