Jaish commander, 2 securitymen among 8 killed, 4 abducted in J
Srinagar, July 26 (UNI) A commander of Pakistan based Jaish-e- Mohammad (JeM) and two security personnel were among the eight people killed while ten people, including a militant who who threw the grenade were injured in Jammu and Kashmir overnight.
Militants abducted four people while security forces recovered RDX in the state during the period, an official spokesman said.
He said one Pakistani infiltrator was killed by the security forces in Gurez sector today. With this, a total of four infiltrator were killed by the security forces in the sector since last night.
Security forces averted a major tragedy when the recovered a live grenade from a bus at Narbal crossing on Srinagar-Baramulla road.
A defence ministry spokesman said here troops of 30 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) killed a militant in an encounter early this morning.
One ak rifle and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militant.
He said another militant was killed by security forces at Akhipora in south Kashmir in a similar encounter.
A report from Baramulla said security forces gunned down a JeM commander Nasir Ali Khan in an encounter at Sattal, about 10 km from Handwara in north Kashmir district late last night. The encounter ensued after a search party was attacked by militants. One AK rifle and other arms and ammunition were recovered from him.
