Indians beat Iran, UK in investors list

Dubai, July 26: Indians topped the list of investors beating Iran and UK with 1,152 out of the total 8,318 licences issued by the Department of Economic Development (DED) here, during the first half of 2006, for different entities and businesses.

Iranian investors claimed second place with 578 investors followed by investors from the six-nation Gulf-Cooperation Council and Britain, a DED official told Gulf News.

The licences are divided into four categories, including commercial, professional, industrial, and intelaq or home-based business licences for UAE nationals.
