India to take part in the 4-nation Women Hockey Tourney
New Delhi, July 26 (UNI) As a part of preprations for the World Cup and Asian Games, a 20-member Indian team will take part in the four-nation Women's Hockey tournament to be held in Singapore from August 3 to 6.
Apart from India other teams in the fray are Japan, Malaysia and hosts Singapore.
Indian Women Hockey Federation (IWHF) secretary Amrit Bose said here today that performance of the players in the tournament will form the basis of picking up the probables for the World Cup and Asian Games.
The team: Marita Tirkey, Poonam Toppo, Ranjita Barla, Anjana Barla, Sarita Hanuman, Ritu Rani, Sushma Kiran Minz, Reena Kanti Ekka, Eti Shrivastava, Rijuta Mullick, Manjari, Harmanjit Kaur, Kirandeep Kaur, Harpreet Kaur, Binita Xess, Th Chanchan Devi, Joydeep Kaur.
Officials: Gurdial Singh Bhangu (Coach), Anurita Saini (Asstt Coach), Sunita Pant (Umpire).
