HC examines 4 more witnesses in Amarinder's poll related case
Chandigarh, Jul 26 (UNI) Four more official witnesses were today examined by Justice S K Mittal of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in connection with the election petition against Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.
The petition had been filed by Harkirat Singh, a voter belonging to SAD (Badal), alleging corrupt practices by Amarinder Singh, then state Congress president elected from Patiala constituency of the state assembly in February 2002 general elections.
The petition was being re-heard on directions of the Apex Court given in regard to an appeal filed by the petitioner.
The witnesses examined, represented the Union and state Civil Aviation Ministries, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and Punjab Sports Department and deposed about the use of helicopter by Capt Amarinder Singh in the poll campaign in 2002.
The matter would now be taken up for further hearing on August two.
