Haryana sets target of 4500 flying hrs, 6000 gliding launches
Chandigarh, July 26 (UNI) The Haryana Civil Aviation Department has fixed targets of 4500 flying hours and 6000 gliding launches for the financial year 2006-07.
The state government had given the grant of Rs 41 lakh to Haryana Institute of Civil Aviation and Rs 2.85 lakh for giving scholarships to the students of flying and gliding during current year.
Giving details about the various projects of the department, he said two Cessna-172R Trainer Aircraft per aircraft would be purchased at a cost of Rs 85.93 lakh by the department.
The department had taken up the proposal with Union Ministry of Civil Aviation for making an international Cargo Airport at Bahadurgarh in district Jhajjar to promote export of processed agri- products from northern region of the country including Haryana and for making an airstrip at village Lakhan Majra and Chandi in district Rohtak.
The department had also planned to develop aerodromes at Karnal, Hisar and Pinjore with an estimated cost of Rs 6.50 crore, Rs 5.50 crore and Rs 7.50 crore respectively during 11th Five Year Plan.
He said the department would provide night landing facilities at aerodromes of Karnal, Hisar and update the navigational facilities at all aerodromes in the State at an estimated cost of Rs seven crore.
He informed that presently three flying training centres were being run at Civil Aerodromes at Karnal, Hisar and Pinjore.
In view of the shortage of Pilots in the country, the department was also considering a proposal to set up flying training academy by private parties at Civil Aerodromes of Hisar, Narnaul, Bhiwani and Pinjore.
