Garment Expo begins Jul 28
Chennai, July 26 (UNI) "Gar Fab Tx 2006", the third edition of the largest garment technology, fabrics and accessories trade show, will be held in the city from July 28 to 30.
Organised by Coimbatore-based Xhibition and Konferences India (XKI), the exposition would showcase the latest in the apparel technology besides the latest collections of fabrics and garment accessories.
XKI Chief Executive Officer B P Mishra told reporters here today that nearly 60 exhibitors would display more than 150 brands from all parts of India and abroad.
Stating that the Indian apparel industry had got an opportunity to explore the emerging scenario in the post-quota regime, he said the industry was preparing itself with huge investments in machinery with an eye to improve quality and productivity.
The "Gar Fab Tx 2006" show had been conceived to provide an opportunity for the garment manufacturers and exporters, silk goods manufacturers and exporters, buying houses and agents, knitwear makers and exporters to meet technology and service providers.
Mr Mishra said the highlight of the event would be the display of Chinese brands of sewing machines and latest models of six different brands of multi-head computerised embroidery machines.
A strong presence from the mills sector would see the display of latest collections of natural and synthetic fabrics for the first time in the city, he added.
