Chautala faction to send Haryana team for national games

Chandigarh, Jul 26 (UNI) The Abhey Chautala faction of the Haryana Olympic Association is all set to send the eligible Haryana state teams in various disciplines to participate in the Guwahati National Games from October 5 to 14.

HOA secretary Dr M S Malik is reportedly receiving all circulars and communicaitons related to the National Games from the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) as well as the National Games Organising Committee, Guwahati.

In a press release issued by HOA Director HS Bhadu here today said Haryana has qualified for archery, athletics, boxing (men and women), kabaddi (men and women), wrestling (men and women), judo (men and women), weightlifting (men and women).

Mr Bhadu, who has been appointed chef-de-mission of the Haryana contingent, said ''more information about eligibility of other sports disciplines is being ascertained from concerned national sports federation/state associations.'' Mr Bhadu said 'the HOA has further asked the state associations to send by name entries of the teams or individual sportspersons as per the laid down eligibility criteria of the Nationals Games. Bhadu will be sending the consolidated list of eligible teams/individual sportspersons to the National Games Secretariat Guwahati before eptember nine.

The Chautala faction of the HOA has also taken up the matter of organising training camps for a minimum four weeks for all eligible players. The HOA will also be making all arrangements for dress of the sportspersons and their rail reservation by August 8.
