BJP MLA changes tune, says resignation ''family matter''
Bhopal, July 26 (UNI) BJP MLA Harendrajit Singh Babbu, who represents Jabalpur (South), today resigned from the Madhya Pradesh assembly.
He described the whole episode as a ''family matter''.
''It's a family matter and the Chief Minister has assured that all the problems would be resolved,'' Mr Babbu said, indicating an end to the political drama.
On why he resigned, he said he was perturbed over the fact that all the work in Jabalpur had been confined to SpeakerIshwardas Rohani's assemblyseat.
''All the work has been confined to one seat,'' he said, adding that the matter did not concern a particular person but the fact that being a public representative he wanted to fulfil public expectations.
When pointed out that the matter could have been solved within the party and what was the need for resignation, the legislator said being a Sikh he would fight injustice.
Mr Babbu added that he had earlier made his grievances known to senior party leaders. The Chief Minister had assured him that the matter would be discussed soon.
Earlier, Mr Babbu resigned from the Assembly and submitted his resignation to Mr Chouhan this afternoon in the Assembly after expressing anguish.
Party sources said Mr Babbu was having some differences of opinion with Speaker Ishwardas Rohani who represents Jabalpur Cantonment.
