Bhullar, Verma share lead; second round abandoned due to rains

Gurgaon, July 26 (UNI) Gaganjeet Bhullar and Gagan Verma shot identical two-under 70 to storm into lead after opening round of the Royal Challenge Northern India Amateur Golf Championship at the par-72 Classic Golf Resort here today.

Jasjeet Singh and Saurabh Bahuguna shot a 71 to share the third place with overnight leaders Lahiri, Gaurav Pratap and Bhawani Singh.

As many as 20 groups completed their first round today in the two hours of play that was possible on day two. The second round play was abandoned due to heavy rains immediately after the players completed their first round.

The tournament has now been reduced to a three-round affair with the second round scheduled for tomorrow.
