Bangladeshi shot in Bengal
Basirhat, West Bengal, July 26 (UNI) Police today recovered the body of a 22-year-old youth, suspected to be a Bangladeshi, from near the international border at Tarali in North 24 Parganas district.
Police here said the body, which bore bullet marks, had been sent for post-mortem.
It was suspected that the youth was shot dead by the BSF personnel when he was trying to smuggle cattle, police stated.
Despite BSF's strict vigil along the international border, smuggling of cattle continued in the area and the BSF had to open fire almost regularly to prevent the menace, they added.
