Bal Thackeray to inaugurate renovated Sena Bhavan tomorrow
Mumbai, July 26 (UNI) The newly-constructed Sena Bhavan, the headquarter the Shiv Sena, situated at Dadar in Central Mumbai will be inaugurated on July 27 by the party chief Bal Thackeray.
The Sena Bhavan developed some cracks after the powerful bomb blast at the adjacent petrol pump on March 12, 1993. Later, it was decided to rebuild the entire building, which was first constructed in 1974.
The new building, designed by renowned architect Shashi Prabhu, has two floors for car parking. Efforts have been made to retain the fort like appearance of the building and will also have a statue of Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, according to party sources.
One floor will be dedicated to the party's central office.
Besides, there will be offices of the senior and junior Thackerays.
There will be a big conference hall, sources added.
Incidentally, Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray's 46th birthday also falls on the same day.
