New Delhi, July 26 (UNI) Areva T&D today posted a 200 per cent growth in its net profit at Rs 27 crore for the second quarter ended June 30, 2006, as against Rs 9 crore for the corresponding period last year.
The company's revenues rose 78 per cent to Rs 443 crore during the quarter.
During the six months ended June 30, 2006, the net profit increased to 50.7 crore, up by 190 per cent, as against Rs 17.5 crore for the corresponding period last year.
The revenues during the same period increased by 75 per cent to 850 crore.
Areva attributed this increase in its performance to its on going business process improvement actions in Training and Development (T&D). The company, which is also planning to make investments to ramp up its capacity, said it is in the process of launching new products developed in co-ordination with global Areva T&D units.
The company also identified six projects for process improvements to improve efficiency of its manufacturing units.
Areva has manufacuring facilities in 40 countries and sales network i more than 100 countries. The firm, a provider of technological solutions for Carbon dioxide free power generation and electricity generation, trnsmission and distribution, employs over 58,000 people.
