Andhra Bank to join nation-wide strike
Hyderabad, July 26 (UNI) The employees and officers of Andhra Bank would join the nation-wide strike on July 28, in response to the call given by apex organisations AIBEA, AIBOA and BEFI.
All the employees and officers of 1350 branches of the bank all over the country would take part in the strike.
The employees are demanding withdrawal RBI's decision on outsourcing of clearing operations, withdrawal of amendment of Section 12 (2) of the Banking Regulation Act on removal of ceiling on voting rights in banks, filling up about one lakh vacancies through recruitments and expeditious extension of one more option for pension.
General Secretary All India Andhra Bank Award Employees' Union T Rabindranath said the cash transactions at all the branches of Andhra Bank through out the country would come to a grinding halt.
The employees and officers would conduct centralised demonstrations on the strike day at all zonal offices and main branches of the bank in all states, he added.
