Alucast to hold annual conference in Goa

Bangalore, July 26 (UNI) Aluminium Casters' Association of India (ACAI) will organise a four-day Alucast 2006, 'Asia Pacific Aluminium Conference' in Goa from November two.

Keeping in view the growing importance of aluminium in industrial applications, the main theme of this year's conference would be 'Emerging Technologies and Strategies in Aluminium Casting', according to ACAI General Secretary R T Kulkarni.

Speaking at a presentation on Alucast 2006 here, he said over 120 companies from India and abroad would take part in the event, which included a buyer-seller meet. More than 50 technical presentations by international experts in the Asia Pacific region would be presented.

Organising Committee Chairman T Parabrahman said the conference would showcase emerging trends in die casting by bringing together user industry and total chain of die casting processors on a single platform. The die making industry in Inda required upgrading capabilities and techniques to shorten the turnaround time between order and first OK samples. It had good potential for global exports. The conference would focus on technologies aiding die design, simulation, prototyping, die materials, machining, advances in heat treatment and die maintenance.
