Airtel launches fixed wireless phone service

Srinagar, July 26: Airtel, one of the India's leading telecom services provider, today launched 'Airtel Mega' Fixed Wireless Phone (FWP) services in Jammu and Kashmir.

''Airtel Mega fulfills the customers needs for an innovative home phone service with the advantages of instant availability, feature- rich instruments and mobility within the premises,'' Bharti Airtel, Chief Operating Officer (Mobility), R V S Bhullar said.

He said this service, to be launched in 52 towns and non-towns within a span of one month in the state, comes with additional benefit of a unique after-sales service model. With the launch of this service, Airtel completes its total telecom services portfolio for all segments.

''Airtel Mega is a home phone with end-to-end service delivery (from booking to installation to after-sales) at the customer's doorstep, which is another first from Airtel,'' he said.

This launch will also play a crucial role in augmenting our telecom presence across all segments of the market, he added.

Mr Bullar said Airtel Mega operates on GSM network. Available in attractive Postpaid and Prepaid tariff plans, Airtel Mega will be rolled out progressively across the length and breadth of Airtel's wireless network.

Airtel Mega will bring to customers a unique bouquet of value added services including Hello Tunes, SMS, Caller ID and all other services that Airtel has pioneered in the last few years.

Apart from a 24-hour customer care facility, any complaint from a customer will be addressed by the dedicated AIRTEL MEGA service team at the customer's premises.

Customers can choose from three European-styled phone models in both desktop and cordless versions, he said.
