ACS demands proper implementation of land tranfer act

Ranchi, Jul 26 (UNI) The Adivasi Chatra Sangh today expressed concern over the ongoing practice of alleged purchasing of tribal land by the non-trial community in state by unfair means and demanded formation of a tribunal for proper disposal of land cases relating to the Chotanagpur Tenancy Act(CNT) and Santhal Paragna Tenancy Act(SPT).

ACS leaders, including Chamra Linda, Karma Oraon and Belkus Kujur, addresing a press conference here said the land of Adivasis was being sold and purchased easily by non-Adivasis in connivance with the government officials.

They said this was against the CNT and SPT acts which strictly prohibit sale and purchase of land in those specific areas. The state government should stop giving compensation against such land sold and instead constitute a tribunal for proper disposal of those cases, they maintained.

Cenral president of ACS, Chamra Linda said the government should also make a clear employment reservation policy for Adivasis in the state.
