10 women killed, 5 injured in lightning

Patna, July 26 (UNI) At least 10 women were charred to death and five received serious burn injuries in different parts of Bihar when lightning struck them during transplantation of seedlings today, official sources said.

A Banka report quoting district police superintendent Syed Haidar Ali Rizvi as saying that seven women were killed at Laxmipur village under Banka police station while three others sustained injuries in the lightning.

Another report received from Aurangabad said that three women died and two others sustained injuries at Jajapur village under Goh police station.

The Injured have been rushed to local hospitals.
