Rajnath calls for action plan to combat terrorism

Bhubaneswar, July 25 (UNI) BJP President Rajnath Singh today urged the UPA government to take the Parliament into confidence and formulate an action plan to combat terrorism in the country.

Addressing newspersons here Mr Singh said India should use its diplomatic skills to take the international community into confidence to isolate Pakistan and adopt a resolution in the UN security council to condemn Pakistan for its role in encouraging terrorism.

Mr Singh asked the UPA government to suspend all the confidence building exercise with Pakistan till that country stopped cross border terrorism.

The BJP President said India should put pressure on the international community to put the ISI under international surveillance as it has direct links with the naxalites in India and Maoists in Nepal to spread terrorism.

When asked whether he favoured a direct action against Pakistan for spreading and encouraging terrorism, the BJP President quipped saying that possibility should not be ruled out.

Mr Singh said,''The Kargil war during the NDA regime was a success which received good support from the international community destroying several modules of Pakistan.'' He came down heavily on the UPA government stating that the internal and external security crisis has assumed serious and dangerous proportion during the last two years rule.

''Our suspicion during the month-long Bharat Surakhya Yatra proved right following the serial blasts in Mumbai and the terrorists attack in Jammu and Kashmir,'' Mr Singh said and remarked that the UPA government lacks will power to challenge terrorism in the country.
