Widespread rain in HP
Shimla, July 24 (UNI) Widespread rains lashed almost all mid and lower hills of Himachal Pradesh during the last 24 hrs but no loss of life was reported from anywhere in the state, met and official sources today said.
Heavy rains lashed Una and Kangra districts of the state, while moderate to light rains were reported from other parts of the state during the last 24 hrs till 0830 hrs, the met office said.
Amb in Una district received the heaviest rainfall of 104 mm of rains, followed by 98 mm at Nagrota Surian, 91.67 at Ghamroor and 88.5 mm of rain at Guler in Kangra district.
It said Nadaun in Hamirpur district also received 78 mm of rain, while Bangana in Una district recorded 60 mm of rains.
Berthin in Bilaspur district and Bhang Manali in Kullu district received 56 mm and 27.4 mm of rains respectively during the last 24 hrs till 0830 hrs.
The met office said Dharamshala in Kangra district had so far received over 1,069.2 mm of rains from June one to till date followed by 732 mm at Nagrota Surian and 652 mm rains at Nadaun.
However, no loss of life has been reported from anywhere in the state during and before the arrival of the monsoons, official sources said.
Light rains lashed Shimla and its adjoining rains and sky remained overcast throughout the day, forcing people to remain in doors.
The state capital recorded a night temperature of 16 degrees, while Sunderngar and Bhuntar recorded minimum temperatures of 21.7 and 21.1 degree Celsius.
The met office has predicted heavy to moderate rains at several places in the state during the next 24 hrs.
