VPT sets record in bauxite ore discharge

Visakhapatnam, July 24 (UNI) A record quantity of 10,113 tonne of bauxite ore was discharged from merchant vessel "M V Ispat Siak" at EQ-7 Berth, here today.

Viskhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) spokesperson said it set an all time record in unloading bauxite ore in bulk in a day.

It surpassed the previous record of 7,769 tonne discharged from merchant vessel D D Seaman on June 20 this year.

The cargo was imported by Vedanta Alumina Ltd, Kalahandi in Orissa.
