Tea garden security force stages dharna
Guwahati, July 24 (UNI) Normal functioning of tea gardens in Asom was affected today following an agitation staged by the members of All Assam Tea Plantation Security Force demanding immediate regularisation of their posts and fulfillment of other requirments.
Participating in the dharna held near the State Assembly premises here, the agitating workers shouted slogans against the government for failing to meet their demands.
Besides regularisation of posts, they also demanded facilities of police force employed by the government.
They sought the Chief Minister's immediate intervention for the redressal of their grievances, pending for the past 14 years.
The agitation affected about 111 tea gardens in the state.
