State Roll Ball championship on August 15

Tirupati, July 24 (UNI) For the first time, a state-level Roll Ball championship will be held in the temple town on August 15 an 16.

International player and Roll Ball Federation of India (RBFI) General Secretary Abdul Salem, who was in the temple town to promote the game said, Roll Ball was invented in India during 2003 by Raju Dabhade, a school sports teacher in Pune. Several countries have evinced interest in the game, he added.

He said the inaugural National championship was held at Pune in May, 2003 and since then, several state and national tournaments had followed.

Efforts will be made to popularise the game in the State, he added.
