State Cong demands implementation of Khanna Committee report
New Delhi, July 24 (UNI) Delhi state Congress party today demanded implementation of the recommendations of the Tajender Khanna Committee that had been constituted to find a lasting solution to the vexed problem of unauthorised constructions in the city.
It also sought the implementation of Delhi Master Plan 2021 within two months after incorporating the committee's recommendations, said Mr Ashok Gehlot, Chairperson of the Congress Coordination Committee between the state government and the party.
The one-hour-long meeting also discussed issues like electricity and water shortage, traffic congestion/parking, price rise that were a cause for concern in the capital.
Union Minister for Urban Development Ajay Maken, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, state Finance Minister A K Walia and Development Minister R K Chauhan, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President R B Sharma, MP Janardhan Diwedi and MLA Tajdar Babbar, besides Mr Gehlot attended the meeting.
