Stamp fee on girls' schools in rural areas reduced
Lucknow, July 24 (UNI) The UP government has reduced to Rs 100 the stamp fee on mortgage executed for 15 yrs as guarantee to Rs 20 lakh grant being given to girl schools established under the self-financed scheme for educating girls in the rural areas.
IG Registration Sunil Kumar said here today, there was a provision to provide Rs 20 lakh grant for establishing girls' secondary school in those development block, where such institutions were not established.
In guarantee to this grant for 15 yrs mortgage, the stamp fee was half of the total paid amount by the orders issued on July 27, 2004.
Now, this amount has been reduced to Rs 100. The Government Order (GO) in this regard had already been issued.
''This decision was taken to promote establishment of girls' secondary schools under self-finance scheme and expand girls' education in rural areas,'' he added.
